  • Douglas County message for winter and snow:

                   Winter weather is here, and with it comes an important reminder for our community. Snow and ice on

                   sidewalks can create dangerous conditions for everyone—especially children, older neighbors, and 

                   people with disabilities who are more susceptible to injury. In unincorporated Douglas County, 

                   property owners are required to clear snow and ice from sidewalks adjacent to their property 

                   within 24 hours after snowfall ends. Keeping sidewalks clear helps ensure safe travel throughout   

                   our neighborhoods while also showing care for one another.
